CD RELEASE PARTY! - April 10, 2007
Well, gang, RIGHT HERE is out! We had a rockin' cd release party with the full band on March 31 at Mo Pitkin's. Matt Keating played guitars, Nicholas D'Amato was on bass and Mark Brotter handled the drums. They were amazing! Thanks to everybody who came out and those of you who were definitely there in spirit. I was so glad to look out and see my sister, Ise, in the crowd. If it weren't for her encouraging words in the "green room," I might have hyperventilated. I also had a surprise visit from my good friend Marissa out of KC. I remember playing the songs for her on a tape recorder when they were first being worked out 2 years ago! Then there's MG Hamer, who never fails to do everything behind-the-scenes, from helping me carry the gear to sign-up sheets to Myspace technical difficulties to video-taping the whole thing!
I don't think this album would be around without people like you who support it. Thanks for making the release of RIGHT HERE a huge success.
It's a Girl! - March 1, 2007
My first blog.
Ever!
I'm feeling the pressure to have a really good intro here, and to be honest, I'm just too tired at the moment. So I guess that's my big intro: "I'm tired." But the interesting part is WHY I'm tired. Believe it or not, I just gave birth. Some of you didn't even know I was with child. Yep, she's a healthy, 2-ounce baby girl with no hair, and her name is "Right Here." Funny name for a baby, perhaps, but I grew her in my heart for 2 years straight and that name seemed to fit perfectly. Some would call her simply a "record," but I would call her my baby. All I know is that when I dropped her off for replication, I sure could have used an epidural. Or a stiff drink. Or both. It still would not have been enough to numb the terror I felt. I let her go into the big, wide world! She will officially leave my loving arms on March 31st at Mo Pitkin's in New York at 10pm. Be the first to see this baby and celebrate her wonderous cd release. Nothing says April Fool's like a little "Pink Boots" or "If You Leave Her, I'll Leave Him."
Maybe I should send baby announcements.
